The orientation you choose to take your photo in is simple to adjust but also vital in making great photographs. Landscape mode or a horizontal angle is great for vast wide areas with lots to see (right to left) and large group shots that need extra space on the sides of the photograph. Portrait shots or vertical shots are great ways to show the verticality of a shot, it can elongate a human form or show the vertical vastness of a shot. However, this shot can cut off shots with alot of interest on the right or left sides of the photograph.
