Light reflected off objects. Color has three main characteristics; hue (red, green, blue, etc.) value (how dark or light it is) and intensity (how bright or dull it is)
Brown: Emits the idea of seriousness, warmth, nature,
earthiness, lack of humor, and heaviness. Yellow: Long wave-length, suggests positivity, confidence, fear, suicide, and depression.

Green: Strikes the eye in a way in which no adjustment is needed, implies balance, confidence, harmony, environment, boringness, stagnancy, and blandness.
Blue: Can stimulate clear thoughts, emits the idea of communication, intellectuality, trust, serenity, coldness, aloofness, and lack of emotion.

Purple: Shortest wave-length, last visible wave length before black, emits the idea of spirituality, containment, authenticity, suppression, royalty, and decadence.

Orange: Suggests the idea of food, physical comfort, sensuality, passion, abundance, frustration, and deprivation.

Pink: Implies love, sexuality, femininity, tranquility, nurturing, warmth, emasculation, claustrophobia, and emotionality.

Gray: Heavy use indicates a lack of confidence, emits the idea of physical neutrality, dampness, and depression.

Black: Essentially an absence of light, suggests glamour, security, emotional safety, oppression, coldness, menace, and heaviness.

White: Implies hygiene, sterility, purity, cleanliness, simplicity, sterility, and coldness.

Red: The longest wave-length, implies positivity, courage, warmth, energy, masculinity, and aggression.
